Converting a list of dates into a cumulative chart

    Hi All,

Not sure at all about how to go about doing this but I've seen it done before.

I'm trying to convert a column of dates (when drawings are released) into a cumulative chart (with release date on the x-axis and number of drawings released so far on the y-axis)

    Any ideas? Thanks in Advance!

Will be in a format similar to below (with unavoidable blank rows)

    Drawing Released
    13/07/2018
    28/09/2018
    13/07/2018
    10/08/2018
    10/08/2018
    10/08/2018
    10/08/2018
    10/08/2018
    10/08/2018
    21/09/2018

    24/08/2018
    24/08/2018
    07/09/2018

    15/06/2018
    15/06/2018
    15/06/2018
    21/09/2018
    21/09/2018
    15/06/2018
    15/06/2018

That's a really useful chart. Thanks.

Is there a way to do a cumulative count in the pivot table?

    Thanks,

    Chris

Re: Converting a list of dates into a cumulative chart

    Hi,

I've been distracted by other things but now need to get this up and running somehow. Hope someone can help with this, been tearing my hair out all day on it.

For some reason, I can't get the attach button to work so I've stored an example spreadsheet here:

Really struggling with this pivot table malarkey!

I want the blue bars to be the predicted (target dates) and the yellow curve to show the actual released numbers if that makes sense.

    Hoping a guru can help!

The paperclip icon doesn't work. To attach a sample workbook you need to click on the GO ADVANCED button below the Quick reply window and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
If the pivot chart in the attached file does what you want then I will be glad to come back and explain how it is created.
