Hello I have an idea of how I could possibly use my data in my graphs to show AVG and STDAV but cant figure out a way to achieve this, maybe there is a better way?
I would like some help with this. I have an example excel file attahced also.
I was thinking something like my IMAGE attachement example here for showing avg and stdav:

have you considered Box and Whisker charts to visualise that? They are new chart types in Excel 2016, but with a little bit of trickery they can be constructed in earlier versions of Excel, too. Jon Peltier has a tutorial on his site here.

Yes hello, I have tried to follow that guide to create those charts but my excel Quartile function doesnt work as it is shown in the guide.
Example: I put in the formula =QUARTILE(AB22:AB50,1)
and I get "There is a problem with this formula" Are yo not trying to write a formula? etc, any ideas?
Your locale requires semi-colons, not commas.
=QUARTILE(AB22:AB50;1)

yes thank you that works now, but I still dont see how I can achieve what I want with whisker/box charts? im not very experience with them.
I Have three groups that I want to compare and all these threee groups have chosen different answers ranging from 1-4 in this example, now I want to show the differences in answers of these groups while also showing average and standar deviation of the induvidial groups. And these average/stdav lines I want are the average/stdav of the choices 1-4
So if group 1 answers mostly 4 the average moves towards 4 etc, my xslx file in the original post might help, I dont see how the whisker chart will achieve this?
tldr: What im saying is, how could I convert my original method shown in the original picture to whisker/box chart? Or just implement the avg/stdav in the original pictures method somehow?

Hello, yes ive tried to create a plot like this and it doesn really work well with my groups when I try it. I dont see how Its possible to see the answer choices 1-4 for each group in a whisker chart.
Some have said that I could try and add columns to my original chart and use them as the lines I showed in the picture, is that possible? how could I do that? If anyone can create a small example for me in excel using my xslx linked file or your own to show me I would really appreciate it cause I cant figure this out, either my design or a whisker/boxplot.
