I am using Excel 2016. I have noticed an issue that I've never had in any previous version. I am using "Scatter with Straight Lines and Markers". In one example I have 6 data sets that I have plotted: 1) three data sets with markers, and 2) three without markers. In the three with markers, one is linked to data in columns in a separate tab, and two are linked to data in other spreadsheets. For the three without markers, I have input the upper and lower X and Y values in the "select data" window. (I don't know if any of this is relevant, but I am including to be as complete as possible).
Issue: I am adding a new data set, and I want to change the order so the new data set comes up first in the legend. So I use the "up arrow" in the "select data" window (note that this happens whether or not I have even linked to any data yet, sometimes I have just put in a label). As I do this I the colors might change for one or more data sets. In the example I am referencing right now, I can move the new set up in the order past the three w/o markers and not have any color changes. Up one more, no color changes (it is now in the third position). Up to the second position and the green lines turn gray. Up to the top, and the green symbols turn the same gray.
To top it off, when I then use the down arrow, it won't necessarily return to all original colors. I can hit cancel, and it won't go back to all original colors. After hitting cancel, I can't undo. If I hve linked to the data, a different data set will changes colors, and to different colors than the gray in the above example.
I completely closed down Excel and restarted. Same thing.
I have attached three screen captures.
Any ideas?
TIA
