Creating a Graph that only shows YTD info

    Hi,

I am currently trying to create a graph where it will only show the available info on a YTD basis for the current year only.
    (Assuming a July-June Financial Year).
If the current month if July, then there would be only 1 data point on the graph.
If the current month is December, then there would be 6 data points on the graph (one each for July, August, September, October, November and December).

I would prefer to operate this from a single cell where I can either select the month from a drop down box, or manually type it in (have yet to decide on this).

I would also like for the graph to show Historical Data (previous financial year data) as well - this one is more likely to be a straight forward aspect as I am happy to have the full 12 months shown on there at all times.

    Thanks for any help.

Can you attach some sample data and try to demonstrate by mocking up what you want to see as your result.

Go Advanced -> Manage Attachments -> Upload

Re: Creating a Graph that only shows YTD info

    Hi Please see attached.

I have included sample data from the prior 12 months for 1 state, as well as from the 1 month of this year so far.
For the current year I currently see the graph line going from having a value to having 0(zero) value for the rest of the year. I want to get rid of the rest of the data for the year until each month is completed.
I would like to run this from the first page (Current year) and Cell A2 (month - currently shows July), so that when August etc are finalised I just change that month and it updates the graph to show 2 months worth of data.

    Thanks,

    Matt

    See if the following helps.
    1) Change the formula in Current Year B10 to read: =IF(SUM(B7:B9)=0,NA(),SUM(B7:B9))
    2) Drag the fill handle to the right
[Optional] Change the chart type of the '2018 - 2019' from a line to a line with markers, otherwise the single point for July's revenue data will not be visible.
Let us know if you have any questions.
