Chart overlays where both X and Y are very different

I know this can be done - I have spent far too long trying to duplicate the sample graph noted in the attachment. Can someone please take a look? I have been working at this and watching you tube videos... I figure it has to do with the X axis since one data series has many points compared to the other series with only a few ... I want the two series to overlay over each other ..... so it looks like the picture graph at the top, which I need to update. Your help would be appreciated.

Quick and easy "hack" that should fix this: Select chart -> Layout -> Axes -> Secondary Horizontal Axis -> display left to right axis. Then format the secondary vertical axis so that the secondary horizontal axis crosses at the minimum. Then format the secondary horizontal axis so it is invisible (no marks, no line, no labels, etc.)

thank you ... I just can't find my way to that menu you are referring. I'm using Excel 2013. I select Chart, Design tab/Add chart Elements/Axis, secondary horizontal and up pops axis labels along the top of the chart (which I don't want). I can't see to get to a menu that says display left to right axis. I try right clicking the X axis in the chart to bring up the right panel menu, but I don't see 'display left to right axis' ... can you possibly break it down a little simpler? (sorry - I can get around pretty well in excel - but these charts do really fumble me up )

Apologies, your profile (the stuff that shows up beneath your name to the left of each of your posts -- assuming you see the same thing I see) says you are using 2010, so I assumed your menus/ribbons would be similar to mine. I don't know my way around the 2013 controls, but it sounds like they took out the "show left to right axis" step when adding the secondary horizontal axis. It sounds like you successfully added the secondary horizontal axis, which was the end goal for that step. Now move on to step 2 -- format the secondary vertical axis so that the secondary horizontal axis is at the bottom, then move on to step 3 -- format the secondary horizontal axis so that it is invisible.

You might consider editing your profile to reflect the correct office version you are using.
