Creating a Combo Chart with Clustered and Stacked Data

Is it possible to create a chart that has clustered columns, one for revenue and one for expenses with the expense column as a stacked column of several different expense categories and finally with a beginning and ending fund balance for each cluster above it? I have attached the data what I am trying to do. I have tried the combo plot but Excel always seems to put the revenue column directly behind the expense column and I cant make them side by side for each cluster. Plus would like to add fund balances into the plot of possible. Please let me know if the attachment doesn't come through.

    Thanks for any assistance.

You did not include any of your attempts to create the chart, so I cannot see what you were trying to do. When I want a clustered and stacked column chart, I follow the instructions here: https://peltiertech.com/clustered-st...mn-bar-charts/ Note that the chart type is a regular stacked column chart and the bulk of the work is arranging the data in the spreadsheet. I'm not sure what you are wanting to do with the beginning/ending balance, but perhaps the "adding a line to the chart" section near the end will spur some ideas.

Re: Creating a Combo Chart with Clustered and Stacked Data

Thanks for your quick response. I reposted my file with my chart attempt so you can see my issues. I think that the "revenue" column is behind the stacked expense column, but I am not sure of that and I cant get it to be side by side. I used the combo chart type.

I will definitely go through your tutorial, looks perfect. I see your utility is from 2003, is it still the latest one available?

    Thanks again

See what you get after following Peltier's tutorial. What you are getting in your latest file is typical for column charts with some columns on the primary and some on the secondary axis.
