Issue with formula when inserting row into table

    Hi All,

Sorry if this seems a little daft but i can't fathom what is happening here.

I have converted some information to a table, but I don't want to see the header, so I've removed it under Design>Table Style Options.

The problem with the removed header is that i now have an issue when inserting rows.

Say I have the following in the G Column:

    Row 23.... =PRODUCT(F23,COUNTA(H23:J23))
    Row 24.... =PRODUCT(F24,COUNTA(H24:J24))
    Row 25.... =PRODUCT(F25,COUNTA(H25:J25))
    Row 26.... =PRODUCT(F26,COUNTA(H26:J26))

If I were to insert a row between Rows 24 & 25, the following is shown in G Column:

    Row 23.... =PRODUCT(F23,COUNTA(H23:J23))
    Row 24.... =PRODUCT(F24,COUNTA(H24:J24))
    Row 25.... =PRODUCT(F24,COUNTA(H24:J24))
    Row 26.... =PRODUCT(F26,COUNTA(H26:J26))

Note the Row 25 formula has repeated that of Row 24

Unfortunately I can't upload an example of this as when i do, the issue goes away.

Any ideas what is causing this and how I can resolve it?

    Regards,

    Jack

Do you mean you defined a table using the "Insert" tab - Insert Table?
    The syntax doesn't seem right

Re: Issue with formula when inserting row into table

    Hi, thank you for replying.

Initially, the data was laid out as cells with borders etc.

However I was having an issue whereby when I inserted a row, the new row wouldn't have the formulas automatically inserted in line with the cells above/below. After a quick google, I learned that this could only be achieved by adding the information to a table. So yes, i highlighted the cells>Insert>Table.

Now when I insert a row, it does add a formula but it isn't concurrent with that row. So as i mention above, it repeats the formula field from the row above, not with the row information of that row.

Edit - Another point worth mentioning. I don't want the header that gets created when i Insert the Table. If i hide the header, the formula does auto fill correctly. If i remove the header (which i have done in this instance), it doesn't fill the formula correctly. Is this the issue? Can i remove the header whilst still keeping the formula auto-fill function?

Edit 2.0 - Please ignore previous edit. It happens regardless of whether there is a header or not. Apologies

Attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
