Maybe it doesn't work because in column F9:F28 there are formulas
which excel sees as non-empty cells?Please Login or Register to view this content.
I changed the reference to the chart from column F to column G now works.
An error:
if I delete the whole range A9:F9 error is displayed:
the formula of the work sheet contains one or more invalid references.
verify that the formulas contain valid references for paths, workbooks,range names and cells
how to fix the error?

I believe that making the following changes to the defined name "Refers To:" formulas will eliminate the error message:

I tried your modifications but the error remains

In the attached copy of the file both formulas are applied. Cells B9:F9 were deleted using the Delete key leaving B9:F9 blank. Then B9:F9 were deleted using the Delete Cells feature on the Home tab moving the values from B10:F20 up a row. Neither of those actions produced an error.
