I am using the following formulae
=ISNUMBER(SEARCH(B38,G32))
Where B38, is the row label "P, M" and G32 is "M" (my added quotes)
It returns FALSE, plainly not correct. What have I got wrong?
Thanks

It is seems working nicely ... attach a short Excel file sample to illustrate the issue
- Battle without fear gives no glory - Just try
Thanks for the reply, how about a screenshot.

The line F35 to I35 was my first attempt and uses this formulae.
=IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH($B$38,F32)),"Yes","No")
I could not understand why it came back with No and so tried the formulae in my first post in G36
I expected it to find the Letter in the Row Label and be TRUE

Welcome to the forum
in your haste to solve your problem, you probably missed the yellow banner advising how to get answers faster by posting a sheet ? ( pictures are nice to look at but useless to work with)
Please take a moment to read it and attach a sheet accordingly.
Thanks you for helping us help you
Yes ok, I was being lazy by using a picture.
The PT analyses a 250 x 10 cell Table with confidential information in it. I would have to write a new data set and PT to post it:
and I don't think the problem is the PT or the data it is based on, it is the text Search I am trying to do.
Surely you have the arguments reversed ... it should be:
=ISNUMBER(SEARCH(G32,B38))
maybe?
doh !! Of course you are right.
... glad to help.
