Create a 3D clustered column chart for two subjects (x: habitat, y: rate, z: month)

    Hey all,

I am having an issue trying to create a 3d clustered column chart that allows me to compare two subjects at the same time. I would like to compare 2 species side-by-side (x: habitat, y: rate, z: month for two species) but the only option I have come across is having the subjects separated on the z-axis, not clustered (x:habitat, y:rate, z: species). I would like to keep the side by side comparison to one graph but if making two is necessary I will do that. I just cant seem to find a resource that informs me on how to edit the z-axis to include month and to present species data side-by-side like a regular clustered graph. I realize there is a 3d clustered column chart and that would be great except I cant figure out how to add a z-axis to that.

    Thanks for your insight!

    Maloner12,

Can you attach a worksheet with a few months of data showing what you are using for habitat and rate? And a quick sketch of what you want the graph to look like would be invaluable.

I have supplied mock data here and on the spreadsheet attached ( I believe I attached it correctly). Basically, I have not been able to attach A and B values (side by side) while displaying month, rate, and habitat on the same 3D chart. So, combining the two graphs posted would be my ideal graph. I just cant seem to get the two subjects to be posted together.

    July A B
    Habitat I 0.25 0.55
    L 0.33 0.65
    O 0.44 0.55
    P 0.54 0.66

    August A B
    Habitat I 0.34 0.6
    L 0.55 0.7
    O 0.56 0.7
    P 0.6 0.8

    September A B
    September I 0.4 0.6
    L 0.6 0.8
    O 0.6 0.8
    P 0.7 0.9

You need to change the layout of your data.

I would consider using an alternative chart type. As you have trend data a line chart would seem more appropriate
