Auto-populate chart with text data from multiple IFS

    Hi all
I've attached a representative excel doc. I'm trying to work out how to return text data from a cell based on DATE and multiple IF's and display them (LOGIC IF's). The result would be then be conditionally formatted, but I'm ok with that part.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hello Rob,

I am not really sure I understand your example data...

You want the names to be populated, based on what?

if a vlookup is what you are after:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    or xlookup:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

These will pickup data based on multiple criterias. Is this what you are after?

Hi. Yes, it is to look up an E, L, or N against a date and employer and return the name of the individual.

Analyzing the data with the new information, it looks like for a given date, you want to pick up the names in order from the top, first matching E, then L then N.

I don't think this can be done using formulas... or it is an extremely complicated formula...

I would recommend you to do this using VBA instead.

Have you tried this? is that an option?

In case my assumption is incorrect above you will need to describe the situation mush more clearly.
