How to change the scale of the vertical axis

I wonder if you know how to customize the Y-axis in excel. Specifically, I want to reproduce the famous Ibbotson graph about capital market data, but using Shiller market data from 1871. I don愒 know if it is possible or if you could recommend any specific application. I need to modify the Y-axis scale, defining intervals from 1 to 100, then 100 to 1,000 and then 1,000 to 10,000. Thanks in advance.

It sounds like you want to right-click, Format Axis, then select Logarithmic Axis.

Thanks, but using a logarithmic scale does not solve the problem. The idea is to preserve the original measure on the Y-axis (dollars).

That is the definition of a logarithmic scale. Can you provide a file or at least a link to an example of what you want? The first example I found uses a logarithmic scale.
