How can I add an interval to stop data superimposing on Y axis?

I am still using ye olde Excel 2007. My problem is I am trying to create a simple candlestick chart to show min and max measurements for different entities. For some reason the data for the first entity superimposes on the Y axis line. I am sure there must be a simple way to leave a space, but I cannot seem to find a way to do this. Can anyone help?

First of all, even the pre-historic Excel 2007 has tables. I suggest you use them as you add rows, you add data. As you add columns you add series. I changed your range into a table and then right clicked on the table and selected Select Data and I deleted you blank series (you can add them back and since the chart is built off a table, they will be added on automatically when you add a new column to the chart. Then I edited each series and the X axis by blanking out what you had and selecting the appropriate cells in the table.

This gave me a chart that still looked like yours. So I selected the first row in the table and inserted a row above it. The chart adjusted automatically.

One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.

I only use Excel about once or twice a year for very basic things so have not bothered to upgrade. Thank you very much for your help.
