    Post Open-Ended Survey Responses

    Hi all,

I'm trying to analyze open-ended responses for survey results.

The survey includes a bunch of demographic, likert, and open ended questions for 10 different classes (class A, B, C, etc... J)

I was able to create pivot tables and connect the datasets with one slicers (by each of the 10 classes).

But I've been having trouble with the responses for 6 open-ended questions. The number of responses vary per question (class A has 67 responses , class D has 0) and there was no limitation on length (responses ranging from yes to 4-5 paragraphs long). Is there a way to slice by class and only have one line gap between the last open-ended response and the next question Q2 which automatically changes based on the # of responses collected?

    Thank you

    Welcome to this forum,

Please attach a sample sheet with the expected results. See instructions at the top of the page in the yellow bar.
This way we can see exactly what you want and we can help you properly.

    sorry about that.
I attached a rough sample essentially trying to generate individual reports for each class and site so using this dataset it would be 14 reports.

Perhaps this will be of some help:
    1. From the Raw sheet select the Data tab > Get & Transform Data > From Table/Range
    2. In the Power Query Editor replace the Advanced Editor code with:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
    4. From the table produced by the above code (Table 1 sheet) produce a pivot table (Sheet1)
    5. Utilize Pivot Table Analyze > Options > Show Report Filter Pages... to have Excel automatically produce an individual sheet for each Class/Location combination.
Let us know if you have any questions.
