Bubble chart horizontal axis data problem

My bubble chart horizontal axis seems to be using the number of observations I am plotting for the axis increments rather than the values of each observation. So I have 50 observations and it is using 50 as the maximum on my axis - how do I change this to be the observation value?

Re: Bubble chart horizontal axis data problem

Difficult to give a solid answer based on the information given. Two common problems that give this result that I can think of:
    1) Somehow during chart creation, Excel did not recognize the range you wanted for the horizontal axis data, so it filled in default values of 1,2,3,.... Solution would be to pull up the select data dialog and see what Excel is using for the horizontal axis data range.
    2) For whatever reason, there is a text string (including a number stored as text or a formula returning a null string "" result) somewhere in the horizontal axis data range. A bubble chart's horizontal axis is a value (numeric) axis, which means that Excel does not know what to do with text (even numbers stored as text) along this axis. Thus, if there is a text string anywhere in the horizontal axis data, Excel will throw up its hands and default to count numbers 1,2,3,.... Solution obviously is to remove the offending text from the spreadsheet range, but the details will depend on exactly why there is text there to begin with.

Look for those two conditions and resolve them, then let us know how it goes or what issues you run into.
