Swap axes in Excel (Word) chart

    Hello,
Can you please kindly help me? (I have spent many hours trying to solve it).
Attached, there is a Word file with Excel chart.
I want to swap the axes, i.e. what is on the horizontal axes should be plotted on the vertical and vice versa.
Otherwise (including the legend), I want the chart to remain the same.
    Is this possible?
    Many thanks, Jan

After a day, I will venture a response. How much effort are you willing to put into this? The only built in chart type (especially in Excel 2003 which is what your profile indicates you are using) that supports categories on the vertical axis and values along the horizontal axis will be a bar chart. But a bar chart is just not going to have any built in options to replicate the stock chart you are currently using. If you are willing to put in the effort, it should be possible to build something that will look like a high/low/close chart in a bar chart but it's not going to be a simple, pre-programmed option.

One possible approach would be something based on a box plot/box and whisker diagram https://peltiertech.com/excel-box-an...ams-box-plots/

Another possible approach would be based on a dot plot (combination bar + xy scatter): https://peltiertech.com/dot-plots-microsoft-excel/

Look over those tutorials and see if you feel like tackling either of these chart types. If so, choose an approach and let us know where you get stuck following the tutorials and adapting them to your high/low/close type of chart.

Re: Swap axes in Excel (Word) chart

    Hello,
very many thanks for your detailed reply, which I do appreciate.
I am not sure about how much efforts. (I hoped that solution will be easy)
I have attempted many methods how to reach my aim, includ?ng data transponing in the Excel source spreadheet. But nothing lead to success.
Also, please note that the chart is not - in fact - the genuine functionality, which is used for confidence intervals as intended by the software. There does exist a special type of chart for this, whoever, I have used a "cheat" how to plot the intervals: I used "linkong of extreme". I have done this in because I wanted to get the upper and lower data labels to be plotted automatically (which is something what the built-in type does not acheive)
I will go through the tutorials you referred to me - they are very interesting.
    Many thanks again!
    Jan
