How to subtract two values from a pivot table using the pivot table count function

    Hi,

I use a pivot table where the columns contain values from two books. I would need to subtract these values from each other, but I cannot figure out the correct function of the calculated field. I appreciate any help, AnPivot Table.png

Though it's easier if you have an example sheet, I can try and walk you through it.

    Create your pivot table,
Then you need to click on the "pivotTable analyze" if you are not already on that tab.

In the "Calculations section" you will find a drop down called "Fields, Items, & Sets".
    Click that

You can now "name a new column"
and put the formula in the formula field Count B - Count C and click OK.

    Edit To Add:
the columns are listed below, double click on the column you want added to your formula.

Ah, same steps but because you did column values, we needed the selection right below it.

    Click Calculated Item.

Name can pretty much be anything

    Formula should be c - 1

    click OK

and it will insert the data into the pivot table.
