Graph with names on x and y axis

    hi all

wondering if it's possible to have a graph but show names listed on X and Y axis, and the data in the middle?

for example, we have department and sales people names. i would like to see the departments on the Y axis, and sales ppl names listed on the X axis, and their corresponding revenue mapped?

struggling so thought id ask some experts. i have attached the sample data.

    thanks a bunch!

I'm having trouble visualizing the chart you want, so I'm not sure what to recommend. In particular, I am having trouble visualizing how you intend to "map the revenue" when both x and y axes are essentially category axes.

As a naive response to the title question, we can use a technique like this (https://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts...egoryAxis.html ) to "fake" a category axis where Excel requires a numeric axis. Assuming you know you intend to map revenue inside of the chart, that technique should allow you to put departments and names on y and x axes.

    Does that help at all?

A bubble chart is the obvious chart type for this. Where the data value you have is the size.
As MrShorty mentions you will need to use dummy series to replace built in axis labelling

Perhaps a better visual would be to use a heat map, which can be simply creating use Conditional Formatting - Data Scales.
