How to make y=0 gridline more prominent

I have a graph with years on the x-axis and bank balance on the y-axis. The bank balance can be positive or negative, in my case it goes from -?400 to +?1,000.

I want the y=0 gridline to be more prominent, e.g. bold. How can I do this while still showing the x-axis labels at the very bottom of the graph?

Have you tried formatting the x axis so that it crosses the y axis at 0 and the axis labels are set to "low" rather than the default "next to axis"?
