Scatter graph where X values are pairs

I would like to make a scatter graph where each data point has a fixed y value but some of the x values cover a small range, so I would ideally like a little bar for each point that shows the range x could be in. I've attached a sheet giving sample data and a representation of roughly what I would like the chart to look like (in case I haven't explained it well!), does anyone know how this could be done? I think there are two ways to do this.

1. Make each set of data an individual series by adding a duplicate Y value and plot them all (Sheet1 of attachment). This has the distinct disadvantage of having to manually add a series when the data population increases.

2. Plot a series of the lower x value vs the y value. Add a custom error bar (positive only) to cover the range (See sheet2 of attachment). This is more complex but will accommodate the addition of data more easily.

Use X error bar with custom value. The custom value is the distance between low and high x value
