Horizontal Axis text direction/orientation and alignment

    Hello!

I'm having some issues with a chart, specifically the horizontal axis.

I want all the goal numbers from column A in their own "column" within the horizontal axis, then all the goal descriptions from column B in their own left-aligned column, followed by the signals in their own left-aligned column...all with regular horizontal text orientation.

For some reason, the numbers and descriptions are taking on a vertical orientation in the attachment, while the signals are oriented horizontally, the way I want them...but the are right aligned and I'd like them left aligned.

This will need to be dynamic, with the data in cells C2:M18 changing.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

    Kind regards,
    Mike

That is how multi level category labels appear.

If you want to maintain the different alignments you can change the chart type to plain stacked by and add 3 more negative series. Use these series data labels to show required text.

    Hi Andy,

    This is awesome, so helpful!

Fine tuning a bit. I upsized the fonts for easier reading, but now some of the words are running over the others. (I haven't quite figured out how the negative value columns work.) Do you know how I can have the larger fonts but not have the text run over each other? The chart can be wider too, just can't figure out how to work it to limit the width increase to specific columns...

    Attaching the updated file...

    Thanks!
    Mike

I have filled in the 3 series used for labeling so it is easier to see the size when you adjust the values.

I have linked the data series to 3 cells so you only have to change a single value for each series.

If you alter one of the values you will see the change in the size of that bar and therefore the space it has to display the data label before overlapping

This works great. Thanks so much!
