    Chart with 2 data sets

Hi, i have 2 data sets in attached workbook that i wish to create a chart with.

There is already an embedded chart with 1 of the datasets which shows the life-status of hardware (in months) which is formatted that way i like it. But i wish to add a secondary axis on top or bottom to show the date in year as opposed to months. in the workbook the start date in cell H2 has a value of 0 months.

Is it possible to create this chart with this data?

I'm confident it can be done. If I were doing this, I would expect to use a strategy like this one https://peltiertech.com/secondary-ax...tional-scales/

I would expect to add a suitable y value in column I (maybe 5). Then add columns H and I to the chart as an XY scatter series and format as desired.

    thanks for that...

the complicating factor here is the stacked bar chart used for the original data.

When i try to add the secondary dataset, Excel re-plots the data in a way that moves the categories to the x-axis and undoes
    the formatting.

i'll keep trying and post the solution here if i find it

I'm a little surprised by your latest description. I don't have immediate access to Excel, but I know I have seen many examples of a "bar/stacked bar + XY scatter" combination chart, so I'm not sure why you are having trouble with Excel automatically "rotating" the other data series and such.

Perhaps start from a more generic "bar + scatter" combination chart tutorial? https://peltiertech.com/bar-line-xy-...hart-in-excel/
