Use of Counta Formula in a pivot table

I want to count the non blank cells in pivot table columns and have been using counta but this means I have to change the formula each time I change the filters. I have read that it is possible to use Counta in a Pivot table but despite a number of goes I have to accept defeat as its beyond me.

    Any help gratefully accepted.
