    Question Setting a more appealing scale in charting

    Hi guys

    I have a very simple funnel based on some tutorials on the web that is based on the inclusion of this formula in col b:

    It's working OK, but as there is a BIG fall in number scale from the first funnel bar to the next, the widths of the bars are minuscule. I understand WHY, but how can I hack this chart to make them bigger, yet still representative (if that even makes sense?)?

    I've attached the workbook

    You could break the Total bar. Link data labels to actual values and add a dummy xy-scatter series.
    Use a custom marker on the xy series, which appear to break the bar.

    Alternatively, remove the Total value from the bars completely and simple display the total value as a text number on the chart.
    The bars would then be based on the other 2 data points.

    Wow. Thank you @AndyPope! That was an ingenious solution. I wouldn't have thought of that in a million years.

    I'm going to use thescatter series approach (Y)
