Removing data point from the series without affecting whole series

    Hello,
I need to remove the first column in Q1 series only from year 2020, but with keeping Q1 for other years. How can I do it? When I try to remove this single column it removes Q1 series from other years.

So basically, I would like to have a graph with years on X axis, and then with:
    Q2,Q3,Q4 values for 2020
    Q1,Q2,Q3,Q4 values for 2021
    Q1,Q2,Q3,Q4 values for 2022
    Q1,Q2,Q3,Q4 values for 2023
    Q1 value for 2024

Right click on X Asis -> Fromat Axis -> Bounds Minimum
Use value to match Q2 2020

I cannot do that, because axis x's values are years..

I'm not sure I fully understand the question. Your sample file doesn't include a chart, nor any indication of where the data are coming from.

IMO, the "simple" solution to the question is to clear B3. I expect that there is more to how you are interacting with this sheet and how this table is populated so that "clear B3" is too simplistic of a solution. I expect that the final solution for the question will be to look at the process you are using to populate this table and how you are interacting with the spreadsheet, then change/adjust that process to prevent B3 from being populated or to clear B3 after it is populated.

    Does that help?

Hi MrShorty, thanks for your reply.
The thing is that Excel is leaving a space on the chart where the empty cell is and I would need the chart to start at the Q2 value for 2020 (without space between the beginning of the chart and the value) - I updated Excel file I attached in my post

Can you rearrange your data to look something like this:

I find that many charting questions end up being more about how one arranges the data in the spreadsheet.

Here is another alternate layout of data with quarters still having a unique colour.

If you don't want Qs in the axis replace all with a space.

Thanks a lot! It was indeed about arranging data
