charting with a secondary x axis

I have a spreadsheet listing previous and current month by day and week. How can I chart both months by both day and week?

I guess it depends on your experience, one easy method would be to have two charts and hide/overlay or scroll to the required chart.

Another method, to chart by Month, Quarter, Half Year and Year is shown in the attached.

    Hope this helps

What type of chart are you using? I've used secondary x and y axes frequently in a scatter chart. You have to have two or more series, and select one to be plotted on the secondary axis, then go in the chart menu->chart options->axes->check the "secondary x-axis" box. You'll then have to play with the secondary x-axis limits to make sure they coincide with the primary x-axis.

Unfortunately, in my excel (2003, SP1) there is no checkbox "secundary x-axis". DO you know what I have to do to get the checkbox?

    Thanks, Martine

It should be in Chart Options, Axes, try the attached.

Yes! In that chart options, there is a checkbox sec. x-axis. Thank you very much!
Do you know perhaps how I can make the option appear in my chart? The (first) x-axis is on a logaritmic scale, so not categorical. Does that make a difference?

In order to get the secondary axis options to appear, you have to have at least one of your data series plotted on a secondary axis. This is done in the format data series dialog.

Whether you have the x-axis linear or logarithmic doesn't matter.
