Chart background fill effects question

Hi, when I try to select fill effects for the chart background,

=>Select Format Plot Area
=> Fill Effects
=> Gradient Tab

There is a Transparency option that is either greyed out or seemingly activated but not useable.

Can someone tell me if they have this option activated and useable in their dialog box for their Fill Effects?

I believe that Excel charts do not support colour transparency, however this site may help you.
