    data range issue?

This is my first time posting to the forum. I'm a relatively inexperienced Excel user.
I am making pie graphs based on answers to a survey. I need a separate graph for each survey question. There are mutiple answers I need to chart for each question.
My problem is: I need the sections of the graph to be based on the amount of people who answered a particular answer divided by the TOTAL number of people who answered the survey. Right now, I can only figure out how to have the sections show the amount of people who answered a particular answer compared to the amount of people who answered the question.
    Does this make any sense?
You have no idea how grateful I would be if you could help!

    thanks for your reply
that shows me the percentage based on the answers to the question. I need the percentage based on the total number of respondents to the survey.

How do you determine the total people who answered a survey? - if it is by the total entries in column A, then

    =65536-COUNTBLANK(A:A)

is your figure. (less any headers/trailers etc)

The same formula would work for other entry columns etc.
