I'd like names on a scatter chart

I have data from a student assessment, which gives me grade level and growth. I have plotted the students data, and would like to be able to tell which student corresponds to which data point. Any ideas? My data is below, and I'm attaching a PDF of what my chart looks like. Thank you!!!

Grade First Name Grade Level Reading GrowthReading
    3 KAITLYN 8
    3 MARGO 8.9 4.8
    3 SETH 2.5 0.3
    3 HANNAH 3.8 0.7
    3 CODY 3.8 -0.3
    3 KASSIDY 3.8 -0.3
    3 CRAIG 3.3
    3 EMILY 3.1 0
    3 DARIEN 2.6 0.2
    3 JACOB 3.1 1.4
    3 BENJAMIN 3.8 2
    3 CARLY 5.1 1
    3 ZANE 3 0.3
    3 HAYLEE 3.1 1.1
    3 MORGAN 3.6 0.5
    3 JORDAN 4 -0.1
    3 JOHN 4.8 2.3
    3 NELSON 6.2 2.1

    Hi Mimi,

I would say that adding Data Labels will fix your problem ...
    Select Series, then
Chart Options Data Labels Show Label ...

    Hi Carim,
Thank you for replying! I guess my confusion lies in the fact that my names are not included in my source data right now, because when I include them, I get two data points for each student, and I want only the one data point. How do I include the names and still get the combined data point? Thank you so much!

    Hi,

select 'Source Data' and then select 'X Values' and select column B data, this can then be used as per Carim's post.

Thank you for replying Bryan! However, right now my X Values are grade level, so when I change those to my names, I only get growth plotted. I'm wondering if there's a way to include my names in the source data. When I do that by highlighting names, grade level, and growth, I get a chart that plots 2 data points for each student. I would like the single data point that combines grade level and growth, but also I would like to be able to identify which student goes with that data point. Is this possible? Thank you so much for your time!

    Hi Mimi,

You need to download an add on feature in excel go to the following website.
    http://www.bmsltd.ie/MVP/MVPPage.asp
    Find the file xychartlabeler.exe
Run the exe file and then open the xychartlabeler.exe file loacted under c:\Program Files\AppsPro\ChartLabeler.
When you open this file it gives you the option to add chart labels under tools/xychartlabeler on the toolbar.
