    Autoformatting Pivot Charts

    Hi,

I have created a pivot chart based on a pivot table in my excel file. I have amended the way that the graph has automatically been formatted. Amongst other things I have changed the colour and the weight of the lines on the graph. Now, if I change one of the data items to be displayed in the underlying pivot table, the formatting reverts back to the original excel chosen autoformat.

Is there a way that I can get excel to remember my changes? Or a way for me to change the default autoformat for graphs in excel?

    Thanks a lot,
    Caroline

I had the same problem and couldn't find a simple solution - and I guess there isn't one as you've had no other feedback to your post.

I did solve the problem through a macro/vba code to force the formatting back to what I wanted it to be every time the Workbook recalculated.

Not sure is you're into the macro/vba area of Excel, but a general approach would be to record in a macro the changes you make to the chart, then set the code to run under the Calculate event of the Chart Sheet object.

Precisely what code is needed will depend on your chart and the changes to be made, so you may have to post an example of your Worksheet to the forum if you need further help.
