# X axis....

1. ## X axis....

Hi

I have a problem with Data on a graph.
3 lines of data
2 should plot on graph and the other is where the data exists, although this is being used as the x axis. I need the x axis to go from 0 - 3 and not

X Axis - Plot 1 - Plot 2
0 100 0
0.125 99.75 0.25
0.18 99.22 0.78
0.25 97.42 2.58
0.355 94.63 5.37
0.5 92.46 7.54
0.71 89.25 10.75
1 83.8 16.2
1.4 70 30
2.8 32.3 67.7

its not going up in scale like it should do. The points are appearing as the values I have typed in column A, which is right. But they don't go up in the right scale on the x axis.

I can send anyone the spreadsheet if you can give me an email address, please email me @ 27hiltonheights@gmail.com

thnaks,

N

4. See attached,

I need the x-axis to be in a series 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 and not as per existing, although i also need the data to apear on the graph as per the data.

6. Chippie,

thanks,

The X-axis should run 0 - 3 and the two lines should be plotted corresponding to the values below.
0
0.125
0.18
0.25
0.355
0.5
0.71
1
1.4
2.8

Thanks again,

Z

7. May be this time?

8. Thats the one Chip !!!

Can you please tell me how you managed that !
Or better still,

Can you apply that ruling to graphs on sheets 2 & 3.

thank you and Regards,

Z

9. Hi,

Finally got there, all you need to do is to click on the X axis on Sheet3, right click > Format Axis > Scale...you will see the values of the X axis, just apply the same numbers to the other charts for the X axis.

10. Chip,

Not quite as easy as that..

Have a look at the format axis on the orignal graphs, they do not have the same options as the graph you have created????

11. Hi Z,

Your right they don't, the only thing I can think of that can account for that is that I did it last night on my home pc using 2007, but saving the file in 97-2003 format.

The pc I'm on now is only 2003, so I'll have to try again when I get home, but it may be Thursday until I can get back to you.

12. Just had a thought, I've used the one I created earlier and copied it together with the data table to the other sheets, then copied the data from sheet2 and sheet4 over the data tables, then updated the charts with the correct sheet series.

13. Chip,

You a STAR !!!

Thank you very very much, Regards

Z

14. Glad to help - thanks for the feedback
