I am trying to draw a yield curve but I do not have data from regular time periods. So lets say I have data for 1 Month, 3 Month, 6 Month, 1 Year, 2 Year and 3 Year. How can I make the X-axis proportional to the time period? If I use the standard line chart, there is no difference in the space between 1Month to 3 Months or 1 Year and 2 Year.

Use a scatter graph selecting the option which joins adjacent pairs of values together.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried doing that but the x-axis label is not what I want. However, if I use number of months for the x-axis, it works, but I would prefer it if the x-axis label shows 3M, 6M, 1Y, 2Y, 3Y etc instead of 3, 6, 12, 24 etc. Do you know how I can do this?

You need to use another series to plot dummy axis labels.
The extra series has the same X value but all Y values are zero.
You then use data labels to display the text.
You can link data labels to cells using this free addin.
