    Area and Line combo chart

I am struggling to figure out how to chart one data series as an area, and overlay on top of that area presentation another data series as a line.

Is there some way to do this??

    (see attached example)

The blue area is the real data of the Case-Schiller Index. (The gray area is a projection if that area continues to decline at 4% per year).

The red "line" is 5% appreciation from the start year. In my chart, the only way I have been able to present this line is as another area series, but with no fill. But this leaves the red lines around the border on the right, left, and bottom.

    HELP!

I just selected the series and changed the chart type to line.

    What have you been trying?

Re: Area and Line combo chart

I am trying to do the same thing, and am having the same problem as in Andy's file where the area data jumps 4-5 x-axis units. To see what I mean, hover over some of the data points on the area curve - they are all shifted. Do you know how to combine an area and line chart while maintaining the correct x-axis?

    Thanks!
