Chart help

I own a tanning salon with 5 tanning beds. I can run a report, and export it as a csv, that shows each hour of the day and the how many times the beds were used in that hour. To create the report, I specify the date range.

I need some help on how to bring that data into excel so that I can graph the results in a way that can show me when the busiest times of the day are. I'll try to post and sample of the report.

Hi

you can open a CSV file with Excel, where each entry between two commas will be in a separate cell. You can save this as an Excel file.

Then you can do some additional data manipulation (Sum totals, calculate averages, etc.) and create a chart based on that.

I do know that I can create the charts. I just don't know how to select the fields and in what order to get the chart the way I want it to look.
I'll see if I can attach the file.

So it looks like i attached it.
What I have is 2 bed types. Pacificas & Delray. I have each day of the month of march and the hours that we are open. You'll see a number of times the beds are used for each hour.

I don't really know how I want the chart set up. Thats where I need some help if you can. thanks

Hi jwalter,

The arrangement of data depends on what you would like to chart; for example if you want to compare the times of usage for each bed in a specific day then the attached file could be helpful.

I prefer to remove the blank rows when preparing charts

Cool. Thats what I needed.
The only thing that could make it better is that the bottom,X Axis, caounts from 1 - 11. That actually is the hours that we're open and it starts at 10 am and goes to 8 pm. Is there a way to make it say that instead of just counting from 1-11?
