Graphs being grayed out?

So I have this graph that when selected shows up normally, but when I click off the graph it just becomes a gray box. I had someone else in my office open the file and it is doing it on their computer too. Also, I tried making a new graph (in the same file) and the same thing is happening. Anyone have any idea what is going on?

BTW: There is nothing special about the graph, and the same thing happens when I try and make new graphs of varies types


EDIT: Not really a solution, but I copied the sheet and it seemed to fix the problem on both the original and copied sheet. Not sure what was going on...

Tools > Options > View > Objects > Show All

your currently have Show Placesholders enabled.
