    removing data from a chart

    Hi all,

I have a chart with a period of months as the x axis and value on the y.

What I want to do is remove a month or period of months from the data so it would go up to May, june would be blank, but the lines (for the line graph) re-appear on July.

I know I can hide the lines by formating the lines to 'none', but I dont want to do this as it will still effect the trend line.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I found that if you go into Source Data (right click in the body of the chart to select it) and then in the Category (x) Axis labels section click on the little box that looks kind of like a chart on the far right. It should go right to the cells that had been selected previously. Click on the month you want to start with then hold down the "Ctrl" key and select the rest you want to show on your chart. Do the same with the "Values" and click "OK". Your chart should only show the months selected without disrupting the flow of the lines.

Can you post workbook as it's not clear what data you have and how you are currently plotting it.

If the month has not data the line should automatically break.
