Okay, so I have a list of names and they are all classified by different group names. Example:
Jim - Manager
Carl - Customer
Tim - Customer
Tiffany - Worker
Joe - Manager
Hank - Worker
Cindy - Customer
Carl - Manager
Mark - Worker
Jason - Manager
All I want is a pie chart that shows what % of the people are Managers, Customers and Workers. I don't want the names or anything like that, just a list of the titles.

Do a pivot table.
Tried doing a pivot table, but coudn't really get it to work for what I'm doing. Here is the data that I want to turn into a pie chart. I know I could go though and use Countif, but i would have to manually change each "NAME" and there are quite a few different catigories. I just wanted to know if there was an easier way to do it than using countif to make the chart.
Anyone with help?
Still not clear why the PT isn't viable ?
If you add a header to row of your sample file - say "Type", create a Pivot Chart, place Type in both Row Label and Value Fields and set Chart Type to Pie (if this is what you want) you should get what you need, no ?

It's probably error on my end with being new to pivot tables. I'm going to go read up on them. Thanks though for the advice and I'll try it out.
