How do i recreate this graph

Ive just realised i have put this in the wrong place. can admin please delete this post or move it to the right area for me. thanks

    Hello all,
I am looking at creating this graph using my own data but dont know the graph types name in Excel. I have tried lots of different methods but cant seem to recreate it.
This is how i want it to look.

    http://profile.imageshack.us/user/se...paintgraph.jpg

    so here goes:

it is a bar graph (bars are green, the "background" is red). the whole thing is the background for a line graph.

so as the stats are recorded as a line graph, it will show if its within the estimated target (green zone) or not (red zone)

    so numbers are from 180000 - 0
    135,000
    135,000
    100,000
    90000
    79000
    50000
    20000
    0

with the months along the bottom for the "bar chart" part, with the line going from left to right with figures within the numbers for each month.

the idea is that the numbers will be reduced as time goes on, so in a perfect world: the line will go down and stay in the green all the way.

I hope someone can make sense of that,

    Cheers

    Sel

Do you have the original chart rather than an image.

The only way to get smooth curves through the columns is to make many data points. Or use an image to mask the top of the columns.

    Thanks for moving it chippy.

Andy: i do have it but cant upload it because at present its taking info from other spreadsheets which are stored locally, Is there a name for this type of graph?
Ive tried to see how to recreate it by checking its settings etc but it just doesnt seem to happen. even trying to change where it gets the data from wont work.

it refers to "series target" and "series actual" if that helps at all.

The chart will not have a name but the individual series will as I would guess it is a combination chart.

Try selecting 1 of the series and then check Chart type.

Also check the Source Data dialog and double check whether the series only contain a dozen cell references.

Out of interest which chart types have been combined to create the curve?

Its an area-line one with the background color changed with "droplines" on the green part

It gives a good idea on if thinks are within/outside a plan doesnt it?

thanks again by the way, as without knowing what it was called i would never have recreated it.
