Hi,
before you do anything to make graphs more "exciting" you may want to read up on some principles of information visualisation. Check out Stephen Few's site www.perceptualedge.com and maybe take the Graph Design IQ test.

Just finished reading Few's "Information Dashboard Design" and it was a real eye opener. Your information is the star of the show, not your layout. In doing so, your design really does end up a lot cleaner and the data is the focus instead of the borders/colors/etc.
Great recommendation, about to start on "Now you see it", should be a good read as well.
Ok took the quiz got a 9 out of 10 right..so that is correct it is the data that is the star of the show but have you seen any bar graphs that have incorporated more interesting then the basic graphs...
Not sure how you think the title explains anything!
Edit it according to the Forum Rules please
Hope that helps.

Another good link about animated charts:
http://charts.jorgecamoes.com/animat...-excel-charts/If you want to add animation to your charts that’s a clear sign that you have too much free time. Go out and play with the kids instead.
Previewing the previous post I now want to narrow down what I want to do and that is to create animated bar graphs. Does anyone know how to do this
thks
