Plotting a line over a scatter graph

I have data that i need to segregate after comparing it with a line. The line is a particular linear function. I need to plot my data on a scatter graph and then plot the line over it. I have been able to do both the activities separately. But i want the line to be on the same graph as the scatter graph. That would make it easier to understand and explain. How do i go about doing it??
