How to plot the data if I have more than 32,000 points ?

    Hello All,

I have 221442 rows of data in excel spreadsheet but I cannot create a graph. Excel pops up a message that the maximum number of data points you can use in a data series for a 2-D chart is 32,000. But I want to visualize the all data points on same graph. Is there a way to plot the large number of data sets ?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Unfortunately, I haven't heard of a solution for this yet. what I tried once was to create multiple charts with data sets with limit of 32K, and then use the same scale parameters for Y axis for all of them and try to join them. You'll endup in problems if the last data set for the the previous chart is significantly different that that of the first data row in the following chart. The lines wouldn't connect nicely.

I cannot find that data set so I cannot try this method, but maybe you could:
    From MR EXCEL

    Hi,

Perhaps an upgrade to 2010 Excel? See http://peltiertech.com/WordPress/cha...in-excel-2010/

If you are plotting a xy-scatter you can use 2 data series.

But I don't see how you can find that many points useful.
