Calculating Overtime in a Pivot table

I'm having trouble figuring out how to report Overtime in a pivot table. Apparently this is more difficult than it seems as I have had no reply on the Ozgrid forum or the Chandoo forum. Please take a look at the cross posting at

http://www.ozgrid.com/forum/showthread.php?t=148038

I have a sample file there and would really, really, really appreciate anyones help.

Thanks for taking a look!

FYI, you have to be a member at OzGrid to see the sample workbook.

Please post it here, if you want someone to look at it here.

Thanks.

Hi,

Happy to have a look but I'm not an OzGrid member so can you load your sample to this thread as well.

See if the attached works for you.

I added 2 columns in Payroll that separate out the total cumulative regular hours from the overtime and then pivotted those in Sheet5

Thanks a bunch! So simple in retrospect. Didn't think of the AND argument for the sumifs function. That's why I went to sumproduct.

Re: Calculating Overtime in a Pivot table

This almost solved a problem I have as well. What if on the payroll sheet, the Employees are not in order?

I have a similar workbook where I am entering employee hours and need to calculate total OT for a week and Pivot it. I'm not able to sort by employee though.
So the OT column will show the same OT for the week on each row that that employee is listed, instead of just once, which is making it difficult for me to extract the OT for multiple weeks in pivot table.

We are happy to help, however whilst you feel your request is similar to this thread, experience has shown that things soon get confusing when answers refer to particular cells/ranges/sheets which are unique to your post and not relevant to the original.

Please see Forum Rule #4 about hijacking and start a new thread for your query.

If you are not familiar with how to start a new thread see the FAQ: How to start a new thread
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
