Question 'X' Data Labels (Names) On Top of Each Other

    Hi,

I created multiple tables, which is suppose to chart the same types of results for each person:

    • Total Pending Tasks
    • # of Tasks Due This Week
    • Day(s) Early or On-Time
    • Day(s) Late
    • TAT % (Turn Around Time)
    • Pending Tasks

The problem is that my 'X' axis label of individuals are on-top of each other in the chart. How to spread these out?

    Thanks

There is no automatic overlap detection in charts, except for pies.

You need to do it manually.

You might find it better to build all the data label information in a cell and then link a datalabel to cell using this free addin.

    Hi Andy,

I'm not looking to have overlapped labels. I already have this, which is what I do not what. I was seeking a way to "spread out" these labels.

I know there's a gap feature, but that only seems to work for the data bars. Perhaps, your referenced website will help.

    Thanks

Maybe I should have been more clear.

You need to move the overlapping datalabels manually. There is nothing automatic.

My suggestion was to have 1 data label per person and not multiple ones.

Perhaps if you posted an example it would become clearer what the actual problem is and what chart type you are using.
