Has anyone tried using minor gridlines that are a lighter color than your major gridlines and found that the vertical minors overlap the horizontal majors. This makes no logical sense and looks really bad. Illustration attached:

Does someone know how to get the major gridlines to print on top of the minor gridlines? Using semitransparent minor gridlines mitigates this issue, but introduces another in that the intersections of the minor gridlines are then darker than the lines themselves.
Any help is appreciated.
