Thumbs up Dynamic Chart Data Source

    Dear Excel Masters,

I have tried to add something like a dynamic selection for my chart, but failed big times.

I would like to know if someone could help me to automatically choose e.g. the previous 3 months (or something like that)

In May I would like to see e.g. Jan - March
In June then e.g. Feb - April
    etc...

The problem is that we have the amounts not on a month to month basis but on a daily basis.

Attached is the spreadsheet (or at least a part of it)Book1.xlsx

    Thanks for your help!

You can use a helper row to display a value as to whether the date in row 3 is within date range, prior or beyond it.
Then use those values to determine start and length of charting range.

    Hi Andy,

    That's brilliant! Thank you!

    Love your website too!

I don't have a lot of charts experience yet, and when I try to copy either your chart or the whole tab into my workbook, the helper row doesn't work anymore.
The chart isn't using those values anymore.

Could you maybe tell me how I could make it work in my sheet?

Many many thanks and regards from Holland!

You will need to alter the named ranges so they too reference the new data location.
