Dynamic Chart(s) that pick up isolated data based on cell entry

    Hello Excelforums,

    Spreadsheet: Trucking Consolidation.xlsm

I was wondering what would be the best way to make a dynamic graph based on the information on the "CaseData" worksheet. What I want to do is that when I select a company on the "CompanyQuery" worksheet, the graph would reflect only the data for that company.

For example, let's say I want a graph that displays the average shipment weight (column B of CaseData) of the selected company, the graph would display the calculated average of the selected company. So if I were to choose Coast Bridge Logistics, the graph would only return the data related to that company which would be 605, 5000, 23, 144, and 1500 (whether it's a total or average or whatever, as long as it can isolate the company's data).

On the same selection, I would have another graph (let's say a pie chart) that displays a comparative % of FCL vs LCL (column G). The graph should return a 80% FCL with 20% LCL since it is a 4 to 1 ratio. The rest of the graphs will follow a similar idea, but the main point is to isolate the case data based on the company selection.

I imagine this is done through a named range of some sort?

You can use dynamic range names to ringfence just one company. For example with Index/Match, as one possibility, if the data is sorted ascending by company.

Or you could populate a static data table with the values you want to plot, and then populate the data with formulas based on your selected company.
