Pivot Table Subtotal Error

Hi All

Got a slight problem with a pivot table I hope you can help with!

See attached

Cell I26 (the green one), I have put in what should be a subtotal of the yellow columns - but if I use a normal, SUM() formula, I get 73758.30 (red cell), which is very different to the green one.

What's strange is that the subtotal is column G and H is correct! but just not in column I (btw, column I is a formula column in the pivot, basically just multiplies H by F)

Any suggestions of help, as always, will be greatly appreciated

calculated fields do not work that way. the sum for the calculated field is sum(colH)*sum(colF) and not sum(colH*colF)

Oh no! - so how do you suggest I can get around this? I need to be able to work out the sum of each section in the pivot table (the yellow part) - but so that it always show's the total regardless of whether the pivot table changes in size(data) ?

either add the calculation to the source data or use powerpivot since you are using xl2010.

I'm using 2007 so don't have powerpivot
