below average as negative number in excel chart

I am trying to make some graphs using 10 sets of data. Rather than using 0 as baseline for displaying negative number (below the line), I would like the chart to display anything below average to create bars below the line. Is there a way to do this? I want anything above average to be above the "Zero" line and anything below average to be below the "Zero" line.

    Use a separate column with a formula: =a1 - average(a$1:a$10)

Or put the average in a separate cell to avoid recomputing it.

    @ mkim

Based on your last post it seems that you are satisfied with the solution(s) you've received but you haven't marked your thread as SOLVED. I'll do that for you now but please keep in mind for your future threads that Rule #9 requires you to do that yourself. If your problem has not been solved you can use Thread Tools (located above your first post) and choose "Mark this thread as unsolved".
    Thanks.
