text mixed in with numbers in pivot table columns.

Hello,

I have a weird set of data that I want to use a pivot table to analyze. The attachment shows a snippet of the data. The top row in the screenshot needs to be the row in the pivot table. I am getting decent information from the numeric data as it just has to be averages. I would like to group that numeric data with the text data (Business Applications, Process, N/A, and Yes). I have read about converting those to number values and doing a custom number format to get the actual text back in the pivot table. However, I am not sure how to do this. Any ideas?

This is survey data.
1. I want to not only take an average of the responses for each question but easy correlate that against their role, division, and location.
2. I would like to group the data based on the value in row 4.
3. The values in rows 2 and 3 are from another survey where if the value is Yes in row 2, I want to compare that against the averages detailed above in first requirement.

My challenge here I think is with the data format itself. I am going to change it so that it is tabular.
