    Keep Line break in PivotTable?

When I export my table to a PivotTable, the line breaks that I had in some cells (done with Alt+Enter or Merge Cells add-in) somehow disappear. I end up with a 20 meter long cell with all Data put on one line, instead of having several lines per cell like I did in my table.

    Can anyone help? Thanks

    Paul

    Hi Paul,

I don't think Pivot table would show the line breaks (alt + enter) ... you need to think of some other way to achieve this.. may be put those alt + entered texts in different cells and categories them using other column and then show this arrangement in pivot. thanks.

Manually clicking on the super long cell and then on Wrap Text (in home) once the pivottable is created actually did the job for me. It restores the line breaks I have in my table.

    Done.
One last info that helped me with my problem: Disabling the Autofit column widths by uncheking the box in PivotTable Options - Layout & Format. This allows better visibility of your slicers and pivotTable since it won't ajust its width to the long cells.
